Wellness Counts

Our most important asset at Corporate Network Services is our people. To that end, we want to protect, support, and improve the health and wellness of all of our employees so they can be more present–physically and mentally-and in turn provide the best possible support to our clients.

Our wellness program, called Your Wellness Counts, provides education, support, and incentives to help our employees live a more healthy lifestyle. The program includes incentives for getting an annual physical, guest speakers for brown bag lunches, medical monitoring equipment in our offices, reimbursement for participating in races, support for charitable athletic events, holiday weigh in contests, and physical activity outings.

Corporate Network Services was named a Top 40 Healthiest Employer in Greater Washington for 2011 and 2012 by the Washington Business Journal; a Health and Wellness Trailblazer by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence 2009-2012; and a Top 53 Maryland company by the Gazette P&B.  CEO Karen Kalantzis has also visited Maryland legislators on Capitol Hill to represent small businesses and urge for funding for preventative care programs in our communities.

CNS’s wellness program was also featured as an example of what small businesses are doing for corporate wellness programs in the Trust For America’s Health annual report “F as in Fat: How Obesity Threatens America’s Future 2012.”

Our annual health fair includes blood pressure and body mass index testing.

CNS employees received a pedometer at the health fair to help them stay healthy, especially through the holiday season.
